  I'm switching to a new doctor. I've been going to this office since my new HMO insurance started in January. Cynthia is my PCP, but I've never seen her. I've always seen Tara, who I believe is a NP. At first I was excited to see Cynthia is a DO, but that's where most of the good stuff stopped. The office is a complete dumpster fire. My initial appointment couldn't be scheduled for several weeks out, and they wouldn't schedule a physical until I came for that appointment. Then the physical was scheduled for 6 weeks out, because they have such a backlog. When I arrived for my initial appointment, which I'd purposely scheduled for 8 am so I wouldn't have a wait, I still waited an hour to see Tara. The one positive thing is that she did spend a lot of time with me. However, when I asked her for a referral to a counselor, she refused it and gave me what she felt were some good tips (exercise and other things I'm already doing). Who denies a request to talk to a counselor?? I ran in for a second visit to have my blood drawn. The nurse who did it was very kind and friendly, and she was good, too. However, the woman at the desk was extremely rude, and no one told me how to prep for the blood work, other than to not eat in the morning. On my third visit (for my physical), I waited an hour in the room, cold and naked, because the nurse gave me a paper gown and prepped me way before Tara was ready. No one even came back to check on me or update me. Cynthia apparently had to run to her house to handle a contractor so Tara had all the patients. Both times the office staff were unfriendly, disorganized, and incapable, and it was different people each time. Additionally, the office space is a mess and feels "dirty." Add to that on multiple occasions I've called during hours and there's been no answer- the phone just rings endlessly. Hopefully they'll read this and remedy some of the issues. Cynthia needs to focus on her practice, instead of running home when she has tons of patients waiting, and she needs to at least meet her practice's new patients once. Tara needs to listen to patients better. The nurses need to make sure patients aren't left waiting in the rooms with no updates. Most of the office staff needs to be replaced for friendlier people.

  I switched doctors after a few visits. The waiting room is a solid 80 degrees during the summer. You can't get in without waiting at least an hour. Add that to the awful Baldwin Rd traffic, and you're at 3 hours any time you need to go in for anything. The ladies who answer the phone are mean-spirited and less than helpful. Glasson will definitely prescribe you anything you want though. I guess that could be considered an upside.
